Shotcrete Machine maintenance

Shotcrete Machine is widely applied to harsh construction sites. However, routine maintenance is needed like other rotor type spraying machine.

1. The sealing plate and the steel liner plate are key parts of this machine. Please pay much attention to the maintenance for fear of failure in operation.

Pressure on the sealing plate exerted by the fastening system is uneven. The maximal pressure finds itself between the discharging outlet and the residual air outlet, and this maximal pressure point drifts due to rotation of the rotor. However this pressure difference can be regulated by the fastening system itself, so little air leaks from the junction plane during machine running.

Proper fastening is essential to reduce wear and waste cost. If the fastening is not proper, the compressed air along with the fine grain of mixture will leak between two plates. The fine grain outburst can corrode the sealing plate and make it useless.

Excessive fastening of the sealing plate will lead to over-stressing and excessive wear due to overheating. 110℃ is the maximal temperature sustainable to the sealing plate, and the normal working temperature is less than 80℃.

Every working shift should clean the sealing plate and check the abrasion. Replace the sealing plate if the rubber plate is worn to such extent as the following: the steel bar is even with the rubber plate surface(Fig.2), or air is leaking out of residual air outlet or charging hopper. For that reason, the steel liner plate will touch the steel bar directly, which makes effective fastening and air-tightness impossible.

Check the steel liner plate once a week. Smooth or replace it, if the abrasion depth is more than 1mm.

Check the holes of the steel liner plate often to ensure sharp edges. If the edge is worn to bevel shape, the fine grains of mixture will penetrate into the junction planes and increase abrasion. If the new sealing plate is installed but the holes on the old steel liner plate still exists bevel-shape edge, the working life of the new sealing plate will be seriously shortened.

Smooth the steel liner plate and get rid of worn parts in time, and lots of troubles and maintenance cost can be saved.

2. Anti-stick chambers and the outlet elbow will not stick in normal condition. However, the rotor and the outlet elbow should be opened to check after every shift.

3. Attention should often be paid to the maintenance of the reducer:

A. Clean the mess on the surface of reducer after every shift.

B. Check the oil gauge periodically and refill the oil as it is not enough. The lubrication oil is #50 industrial gear oil (sy1172-77s) or #46 mechanical oil.

C. Replace the lubrication oil after a total working hour of 250h (about three months).

D. Supplement the lubricant oil of square axis bearing (an oil inlet is at the head of square axis).
