Drum Mixer Mixing Structure

October 29, 2025

The mixing drum (Figure 2) is the working component of the mixer. It has a double cone shape and is welded with two pairs of high and low blades, arranged crosswise and at a fixed angle to the drum axis. As the drum rotates, the blades not only lift and lower the material, but also cause it to move back and forth axially, resulting in a strong mixing motion. Homogenous concrete can be achieved in 35-45 seconds. A pair of discharge blades are welded inside the discharge cone of the mixing drum. These blades change the direction of the drum's rotation, pushing the concrete from the low blades to the discharge blades and out of the drum.

The mixing drum has four supporting rollers. Both mixing, loading, and discharging are driven by a single motor. When the motor is turned on, power flows through the transmission system, rotating the mixing drum to agitate the material within. Reverse rotation of the motor discharges the material from the mixing drum.
